Millcroft's scaffolding and construction divisions have been awarded a significant maintenance contract at the iconic Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hyde Park, London. The contract, secured through a competitive tender, will be delivered as a turnkey solution, combining Millcroft’s expertise in scaffolding and construction.
The project forms part of the hotel’s five-year maintenance schedule and will fully refurbish four external fire escape staircases. Millcroft will work closely with the hotel’s team to ensure the highest safety standards and minimal disruption to hotel operations. Our programme of works will be carried out in phases to allow the hotel to remain fully operational throughout.
Millcroft's scaffolding division will systematically erect scaffolding around each staircase, enabling safe access for our construction team to carry out the essential works in phases. The existing paint will be removed before three layers of durable two-pack epoxy paint are applied, and any required maintenance work around the staircase will be carried out. The hotel's existing bird netting will be temporarily removed and reinstated once the work on each staircase is completed.
A key feature of the project is Millcroft’s meticulous approach to phasing, ensuring minimal disruption to the luxury hotel’s guests, staff, and visitors. Once work on each staircase is completed, the scaffolding will be dismantled and repositioned for the next phase, with only rooms adjacent to each staircase being temporarily taken out of service during the maintenance work.
