Here at Millcroft we support a number of good causes and, this year, after losing a valued colleague and friend to cancer, the team has been inspired to go the extra mile. In fact, one of our team, Office Manager Ginny Duffy, has quite literally gone the extra mile by completing the Walk All Over Cancer challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Tracking her steps every day, Ginny managed to clock up 393,262 steps throughout March, smashing her target by more than 80,000 steps and averaging more than 12,500 steps every day.
She has also smashed her fundraising target, breaking through the £1,000 barrier and scooping an additional £100 donation from our Group Managing Director Roy Jones, who was very impressed by her efforts and the generosity of the whole Millcroft team.
Ginny’s £1,160 donation will go towards Cancer Research UK’s valuable work in searching for new and less intrusive treatments for cancer.
She commented: “Building at least 10,000 steps into each day is quite a challenge when you have a desk-based role, but it’s been fun to incorporate walking into my routine and everyone at Millcroft has been really supportive. I set out to raise £100 and I can’t believe I have raised more than 10 times that goal. I’d like to thank all my colleagues and all the customers and supply chain partners who have donated to such a great cause.”
